Some kids are content to spend long days curled up with books and hot chocolate. For M, though coloured pencils and teddies in a cozy blanket fort while away hours, he also needs the outdoors in his days. Even if all that we do is make camp on the balcony, those fresh air-breathing moments keep the daily balance right. One of my biggest reasons for convincing G to move our whole world was the outdoors for the children and the fresh air for us all which is why now, after a tough day with M, I am kicking myself because, in hindsight his mood should have been predicted, preempted, eradicated. A weekend indoors followed by a six-hour car trip to Istanbul and back – no wonder he needed to let off some steam! I should have prevented the stress that he felt today. Lesson learned, checked and noted; from now on it’s a puddle a day.
