solo-parenting sucks when you need to take a shower but the baby won’t nap
solo-parenting sucks when nighttime insomnia strikes either you or the babe and there’s no daytime nap-time option to grab
solo-parenting sucks when you need an extra pair of hands and the Little’s are far too small still
solo-parenting sucks when its diarrhoea toddler time & the pooey dude is determined to run away
solo-parenting sucks on days when you. just. need. five. minutes. to stop and regroup for yourself
solo-parenting sucks when its holiday time for others around but it’s just the two of you still
solo-parenting sucks when hormones beg you to nest while little hands dare you to try that idea
solo-parenting sucks when you want to be the best Mum you can be but a week is a very long time
solo-parenting sucks when you have to choose us or me for the one day a month you’re not solo.
But on that one day a month, solo-parenting rocks because these moments are rarer than most. On that one day a month, just two hours is as wonderful as a day. On that one day a month, you forget all the woes and just throw yourself into the hours you’ve been granted to be the unit you dream of being, with the ones you choose to love. On that one day a month, solo-parenting is a blessing to you because you see the beauty in the seconds which you share and you know, in those seconds, that the minutes matter not, it’s the memories make the hours tick on by.
