A Not So Turkish Life

Better Together

Carefree, with money and time enough to apple-pick through car windows, throw nuts at closed sunroofs and chase after a tree. For one amazing week we star gazed and bed-hopped, and as night after night we tucked into craving satisfying fish, we fell head over heels in love. A lot’s changed since then. It’s highly unlikely we’ll ever again sit on beaches tanning our tummies, or indulge in natures highs while driving along, and life’s a wee bit more complex than way back then. But no matter how complex life gets, how many hurdles we need jump, I wouldn’t change a thing: We thought life was great back then – that was just the begining.

This song makes it to number one on my list because it takes me back to that week and that feeling of uncomplicated freedom and newly found love, and most importantly, reminds me we will always have a tree to climb.
